Ceilings represent the largest exposed interior finish in a building, yet they are often overlooked in terms of delivering wow factor as well as well-being factors. Armstrong Ceilings has three particular solutions that deliver form as well as function to restaurant and bar projects worldwide.
Canopies respond well to the current interior design trend for exposed soffits and Armstrong’s mineral, metal, wood and fabric canopies in a multitude of textures, shapes, curves and colours can be designed into these or to complement an existing wall-to-wall ceiling solution.
More than 60 of Armstrong’s mineral canopies were specified by strategic design consultants 20.20 for 'The International' private members lounge at Liverpool Football Club. Circular canopies from Armstrong also helped reduce noise levels by 50% in The Living Lab - the first Pizza Express restaurant acoustically designed. Eighty canopies hang at varying angles, levels and orientations to disguise services.
Also ideal for exposed soffits is Armstrong’s range of metal and mineral baffles which can be quickly and easily suspended directly from the soffit via cables or grouped using standard grid systems. Their vertical linear aesthetic delivers a directional comparison to continuous suspended ceilings as well as allowing continuous access to building services.
Giving a contemporary design aesthetic for wall-to-wall ceilings is Armstrong’s mesh metal range, in a choice of four standard patterns and four colours to give a minimum of 16 design options. This has been designed with hook-on and lay-in options for simple and economical installation on standard exposed and concealed grid systems.
